What Media Bias? Oh, that.
Voter ID laws are racist.
Well, not really. Voter ID laws aren’t racist. But that they might be is the “fact” that the left and the media (more and more the same thing) wants you to walk away with. Never mind all that stuff about proving you’re able to vote before you vote. Or that pesky thing about someone not using your name to vote on your behalf. Nah! There’s no voter fraud! (Believing this requires completely forgetting Chicago exists, by the way.) Voter ID laws only serve to keep people too poor and elderly – sometimes both! – from voting. And since, according to the left, minorities are disproportionately poor (compared to evil whiteys) Voter ID laws really target minorities.
Once again the man is trying to keep minorities oppressed.
They’d actually have a point if it weren’t for the fact that every new Voter ID law includes provisions to provide free (or very very inexpensive) state issued IDs to anyone who can’t afford it. Problem solved. Next!
But this is about media bias. The Associated Press is allegedly an unbiased news provider with strict guidelines about editorializing in their product. I’m thinking someone missed the memo:
Republican majorities in the Virginia House and Senate pushed the bill to passage one year after a more modest GOP-sponsored voter identification law failed to prevent President Barack Obama from winning Virginia for the second presidential election in a row and a Democratic U.S. Senate victory.
The AP hack who wrote this is convinced, and assumes as fact, that the only reason the new law was passed was because the older law – the more modest one – didn’t “prevent” Obama from winning Virginia. It couldn’t possibly be because, oh I don’t know, the son of a prominent Virginia Democrat is on tape coaching someone on how to commit voter fraud in Virginia, could it?
Of course not.
The AP should issue an apology for this ridiculous hack job passed off as impartial news. This reporter, whoever it is, simply continued the attack being leveled by Democrats and put AP’s stamp of approval on it by not attributing the claim to Democrats.
Chuck Todd recently asked for evidence of media bias. Here you go, Chuck!
