Today the American Conservative Union announced that David Keene and Wayne LaPierre of the National Rifle Association will address the 40th annual Conservative Political Action Conference being held March 14th-16th at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in National Harbor, MD. From the ACU:

“At a time when President Obama has caused all Americans to reexamine what were once-assumed to be fundamental Constitutional rights, I am honored to welcome my friends David Keene and Wayne LaPierre back to the CPAC stage in March,” said ACU Chairman Al Cardenas. “Both David and Wayne have spent a lifetime defending America’s freedoms, ensuring that future generations enjoy the same protections and rights we do today.”

David Keene is the President of the National Rifle Association and served as Chairman of the American Conservative Union from 1984-2011. He worked in the White House during the Nixon Administration as a political assistant to Vice President Agnew and on Capitol Hill as Executive Assistant to Senator James L. Buckley. He was Southern Regional Coordinator for Ronald Reagan in the 1976 campaign, National Political Director for George Bush in 1980 and a senior political consultant to 1996 Republican presidential nominee Robert Dole.

Wayne LaPierre is the Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of the National Rifle Association, a position he has held since 1991. Under his leadership, the NRA has grown to over 4 million members and was recognized by Fortune magazine as one of the most powerful and influential organizations in America.

The willingness of President Obama and his allies to go after the 2nd Amendment rights afforded Americans  by the Consitution, I’m happy to see these two men being announced as CPAC speakers.

First let me say, that all the heinous crimes commited anywhere on this earth are done by people with serious disturbances of their minds, they will use any kind of insturment to accomplish this end. We can not jump to the kind of instrument that was used to lay the blame, we must so all we can to learn more of this type of mind set and do our best to filter them in some manner, but we can not control everyone to do this, it is part of the human race and we are not equiped to stop ever act of violance before it happens, it is how life is. I would hope that we could this but we just can not, however we can do all we can do in ernest with every effort we can apply and concerning guns ( a given right for Americans in America by way of the second amendment ) we are privledged to have that right for many reason, one for tyrany against a government that wants to rule every single thing we do and also to take away the liberties as we have that are our given rights by the Constitution and Bill of Rights, some other reasons are for our own pleasure of shooting in competition, and hunting for subsistance. Other reasons are clearly for war and those kinds of defense’s. What is not clear to any rational thinking individual is that someone ( Like our President and others in government ) would want to disarm the law abiding citizen and his right to keep and bear arms ” shall not be infringed ” , tho we have our suspicions of their reasoning, is all the more why we must stop this ” Infringment “. The NRA has done wonders for keeping the right to bare arms and I salute them, and in doing so we need to keep working at it to keep this right as well as all the rights and freedoms of our liberties that were guaranted to us by the framers of our Constitution and Bill of Rights who we refer to as our founding fathers, these men had great wisdom and I believe they were Divinely insprired wonderful Christion Men and that is why we are a Nation Under God with Liberty and Justice for All. Thank You. William Kahler
