While Senator Pat Toomey from Pennsylvania is talking about how the GOP should fight over the debt ceiling, President Obama is not quite as interested in such a proposition:

President Obama, however, said last night that he is unwilling to negotiate with Congress on the issue. “While I will negotiate over many things,” he said, “I will not have another debate with this Congress over whether or not they should pay the bills that they’ve already racked up through the laws that they passed.”

The arrogance, it hurts. And this is the guy that that voters liked more than Governor Romney?

I agree with the President. There is no use negotiating with terrorists.

  2. Clyde Logue says:

Why negotiate? The debt ceiling has to be raised, What’s to negotiate?

Let the GOP negotiate with themselves for a while before a grownup gives them the answer.

Do republicans really want to have a nasty fight on entitlement cuts? It means they’ll have to name exactly where and how they want to cut two of the most popular programs–social security and medicare–supported by a majority of liberals, moderates, and conservatives. In no large group of American voters are these programs UNPOPULAR, so how is this fight a political gain for republicans? It makes no sense. I just hope Obama stands his ground and all but ignores the screaming banshees in the opposing party.
