The fact that Government would even say they are coming for the weapons and take away our rights is wrong. Governor Cuomo also saying that a permit is a option is bull, the permit idea is so that once your weapons are registered they know what exactly every American has so that they can come and confiscate our weapons. I guess the Governor of NY never watched RED DAWN.
I would only consider turning in any of my guns if he disarms all of his private security and his (storm)troopers. socialism is for the people not the socialist.

Cuomo better get some cash to compensate the guns he is planning to confiscate. There is a “taking clause” regarding private property under the Fifth Amendment. The Supreme court already ruled that applied to the States as well.

Well in reality, MANY will had over their guns if told to. The NRA has turned many into “Sporting Purpose” sheep, and they have no real idea as to what the 2nd is really for. In fact, the NRA has helped to write much of the unconstitutional gun laws on the books today.
Not very long ago, You didn’t need a Permit/License to hunt/fish for food – now most gleefully pay the King for the privilege to go get a deer, duck, trout for dinner. Trust me – of all that money paid in, a very tiny % makes it towards any real conservation. I work for a large parks system.
If the corporate State(s) was to put in a Registration/Permit system, most would sign right up – you do with your cars/truck and your kids after all – without question.
And when the confiscations come – it will be those who “Work For US” – “To Protect and Serve” – you know, the Cops. They will without question rip those evil guns out of your hands for a paycheck – Unless you shoot them first.

We created a document that ALLOWS you to govern us. That document sets forth RULES you were to obey to be ALLOWED to govern us. Now you choose to disobey those rules that are the very thing that ALLOWS you to exist. With all the talk about confiscation, it is time to familiarize ourselves with Article 1, Section 9, Clause 3 of the United States Constitution.
Clause 1. The Migration or Importation of such Persons as any of the States now existing shall think proper to admit, shall not be prohibited by the Congress prior to the Year one thousand eight hundred and eight, but a Tax or duty may be imposed on such Importation, not exceeding ten dollars for each Person.
Clause 2. The Privilege of the Writ of Habeas Corpus shall not be suspended, unless when in Cases of Rebellion or Invasion the public Safety may require it.
Clause 3. No Bill of Attainder or ex post facto Law shall be passed.
Ex post facto laws are expressly forbidden by the United States Constitution .
With the recent hysteria by the anti-gun zealots, whipping up false claims and information about modern sporting rifles. The governor of New York and US Senator Diane Feinstein have suggested new laws that include the possible confiscation of existing private property by declaring semi-automatic rifles as contraband with no “grandfather clause”
Although Feinstein from California and Cuomo from New York both live in states that have little to no regard for the Constitution of the United States, it is understandable how they can make such bold and anti-government statements. In their world the detest the Constitution.

They will try and scare us that they want to and then to make themselves appear as reasonable, they will the compromise for 100% registration and licensing of Long Guns just like NYC.

Cuomo is going to bite off more than he can chew with this. If he thinks he’s going to go house to house confiscating weapons, he’s in a for a shootout. It’s our right to own and shall not be infringed upon means JUST THAT.
Even “mandatory sale to the state” would be pushing beyond the limits of eminent domain.
He is obviously grandstanding, and pandering to the worst fears of both gun owners and gun haters. Whether this is bad judgement on his part or actual psychopathology ought to be determined immediately by a panel of psychiatrists interviewing him. Unless he is adjudged “mentally defective” (i.e. not criminally responsible, by way of insanity), he should then be prosecuted for inciting to riot.
That’s the treatment any of us would receive if we’d said the same thing from the kind of soapbox he has as governor.

Who elects these people? Bloomberg has become a martinet and it could be laughable but what he is doing seems to be ok with his subjects. Cuomo appears to have not read the Constitution or at least had his lackies read it for him. While someone may have found him a ‘loophole’, it’s not going to be as easy as he thinks to force citizens to give up their legal guns.
The mere fact that he is considering such an action should eliminate any future presidential bid on his part!!

So how would this confiscation work? Are you going to send the police, who live with their families in the communities they would be ordered to victimize? In my opinion, this is the reason I moved out of New York state. I was born and raised in New York. I saw the “handwriting on the wall” in 1988. You and Bloomberg (notice I did not give your honorifics, you do not deserve them) are a pair, and would not last a day in Alabama. Legal, honest gun owners are always suffering from the actions of felons. You haven’t learned your history, have you? Prohibition did not work, neither does the “war on drugs”. If people want a thing, all the laws you ever could pass will not stop the ownership and use of firearms in the U.S. Personal ownership of firearms of any kind are guaranteed by the 2nd Amendment of our Constitution – ownership is not a privilege, it is a right. And you, damn you, do not have the ability to strip that right from any U.S. citizen.
Plain and simply, the reason why those children died at the hands of an insane criminal is because that School did not care to have sufficient security to protect them. The fault of those deaths lie completely upon that school system in Connecticut, not on the hundred of thousands of gun owners that live in N.Y. The problem is you Cuomo, not legal honest gun owners. Assume the responsibility yourself, do not blame others for your lapse of judgment. Provide security for YOUR schools, so that a similar tragedy does not happen in New York. If you do not, then the fault lies in YOUR hands, not citizens exercising their rights under the Constitution. I personally think it is time for a change in our governmental system, a change to elected officials that actually are required to listen to their constituents, not ignore them after they get elected. Since when does one person have the right to decide what is good for millions of people?

Obama, Cuomo, Bloomberg, Boehner. Those four people are ten times as dangerous as all the guns in USA, probably in the world. They have no understanding of the American Constitution, and even less understanding of the effects of changes to our gun rights. The best use for all four of them would be as targets for gun practice, that way they may undo some of the damage they are doing to our rights. There are very many millions who have died in last century killed by their own governments who took away those rights prior to killing them. All gun owners should remember that. We know the above four want to take these rights away and I am sure the end result will be millions more victims of these anti americans.

[For the perennially curious]: My Nom d’Blog is Myron J. Poltroonian. That was the name I used on the 1980 census long form that I filled out in San Francisco. The one the poor college student asked for on a Saturday morning around 10:00 a.m., after I’d been out playing at a gig the night before and hadn’t gotten home until about 2:30/3:00 in the morning. Let’s just say the sight of this long-haired, bearded, grumpy and bedecked in only my old burgundy bathrobe musician was unsettling to the poor fellow to say the least. My response to his inquiry was a somewhat gruff “Yah!”, whereupon he smiled weakly, apologized profusely, and beat a hasty retreat away from my door, never to be seen again. Who says interacting with the government can’t be fun? And, effective as well.
Groing up in the 60′s I heard that “the South will rise again”. Seems to me the red states are the new south, and that new gun control laws violating the constitution could apply the answer to the question of “when is it time” to restore constitutional authority. I’ve lived long enough and have no fear; there is not much limit to what I will do to provide a secure and lawful environment for my grandchildren.
