Kansas City Chiefs Player Involved In Shooting At Team Facility

Unbelievably tragic news this morning from the National Football League. NFL insider Jay Glazer just tweeted this:

He hasn’t confirmed the identity of anyone involved as of yet, but did go on to say players have been informed that they should go to the stadium for a meeting about the shooting.

My prayers are with the victims and their families.

UPDATE: Reports are coming out now that police say a Chiefs player shot and killed his girlfriend at a residence and then drove to the team’s practice facility and killed himself. From KCTV:

Police are investigating two deadly shootings Saturday morning that they said are related.

The shootings involve a Chiefs player and his girlfriend.

The first shooting was reported about 8 a.m. at a home near 54th Street and Chrysler Avenue. The second shooting was reported a short time later at a Chiefs practice facility located on the Arrowhead facility.

Officials said the Chiefs player shot and killed his girlfriend and then drove to the practice facility where he shot and killed himself.

The identity of the player has not yet been released.

UPDATE 2: 610 Sports in Kansas City is now reporting that the player involved is LB Jovan Belcher.
