In what looks like another terror attack on U.S. Embassy personnel, the Yemeni chief of security for the U.S. Embassy in Sanaa was assassinated on his way to work early Thursday morning. From Fox News:

Officials say Qassem Aqlani, who was in his fifties, was shot dead while on his way to work early on Thursday. They say a gunman on a motorcycle opened fire at him and fled the scene.

Aqlani had been working for the U.S. Embassy in the Yemeni capital for nearly 20 years.

The Yemeni officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak to the media.

Even though Aqlani was not an American, the fact that he worked for the U.S. for such a long time likely means he was seen that way to his attackers, and we should view the attack in the same manner. I’d like to see what the Obama Administration has to say about this, if they even bother to address it at all.
