President Obama Thinks He Deserves A Participation Trophy

We’ve had 43 straight months of unemployment above 8% after Obama’s economic advisors told us it would be below 6% if the stimulus passed. There are over 23 million people out of work or underemployed in this country after Democrats had two years of complete control of the White House and Congress.

This is Obama’s economy. He said so himself:

Now he’s going around saying that he deserves re-election based on an “incomplete” grade he gave himself. The Obama campaign is basically saying The One deserves a participation trophy for simply showing up.

TAPPER: So President Obama was asked recently about the grade he would give himself. And once again he gave himself an incomplete. It’s been four years. Does that answer cut it? An incomplete after a full term?

STEPHANIE CUTTER: Yeah, it does, because, you know, once again I’ll remind you of what life was like when he took office. 800,000 jobs were lost in that month alone. 3.5 million in the 6 months prior. And, you know, pretty quickly he was able to turn job loss into job growth. But when he’s saying incomplete, it means a number of different things. One: we’re on a path forward. You know, we’re on our way up. And there is a lot more that he wants to get done. He’s not done yet.

Team Obama would like us all to pretend the last four years never happened and that Obama is still running against George Bush instead of Mitt Romney.

Sorry, that’s not going to cut it. Obama over-promised and under-delivered. He said if he didn’t get things turned around in three years (three years ago) it would be a one-term proposition. Now he wants a do over?

The country needs a turnaround. Mitt Romney’s entire public sector and private sector career has been as a turnaround specialist. It’s time to change course.

Obama, by his own standards, has failed. He doesn’t get to make the presidency a participation trophy. We’ll give him a lifetime Secret Service detail for his efforts, but it’s time for him to go.

    You can torture the facts all you like, but Bush destroyed everything he touched. Two unfunded wars, an unfunded healthcare mandate, unnecessary tax breaks are concrete, eternal facts. Then Congressional Republicans obstructed any and all attempts to fix the damage.

    As the man says, “Just because he didn’t immediately cure cancer, doesn’t mean you turn around and vote for cancer.”

    When do you hold Obama accountable for what he said? Ever? He said this was his economy back in 2009. This is the reality you have to deal with in 2012. Also, Bush isn’t running.
