DNC Speaker Never Worked For Bain, Runs Lefty Environmental Group

Last night during the Democratic National Convention, there were three speakers billed as former employees of companies controlled/run by Bain Capital. Among them was a man named David Foster. There’s just one huge problem with the DNC’s claim: he never worked for any company controlled by Bain Capital. From ABC News:
But it turns out one of those employees never actually worked for a company controlled by Bain Capital.
David Foster was supposedly one of those former employees on the convention schedule. He told the story about 750 steelworkers who lost their jobs when the Bain-controlled company GST steel filed for bankruptcy in the early 1990s.“In 2001, with GST bankrupt and Romney still CEO of Bain, I stood in front of hundreds of steelworkers in their 50s and 60s, and retirees in their 70s and 80s, and told them Romney and Bain had broken their promises. Jobs, vacation pay, severance, health insurance and pension benefits that were promised — they were all gone,” he said.
See, David Foster was not employeed by GST Steel, he was actually employed by Big Labor as a union director just as he has been for most of his life. So trying to pass him off as some steelworker as GST is a joke.
Now, while trying to pull a fast one like might be a notable story, that’s not all you should know about David Foster. Anyone wanna guess what Foster does now? Nope, not Big Labor. Now Mr. Foster is the Executive Director for The BlueGreen Alliance. Just what is The BlueGreen Alliance you ask? This is from the “About Us” section on their website:
Today, the BlueGreen Alliance unites 14 of our country’s largest unions and environmental organizations. Acting together, through more than 15 million members and supporters, we are a powerful voice for building a cleaner, fairer and more competitive American economy.
Ahh, yes. ‘Fairness.’ Where have we heard that before?
Now here’s what Open Secrets says about them:
BlueGreen Alliance is a left-leaning not-for-profit organization aimed at “expanding the number and quality of jobs in the green economy.” In doing so, it has generally raised money in support of Democrats and in opposition to Republicans running for political office.
Oh, and before anyone says “See! They spent money against Democrats!! All $94K they spent “Against Democrats?” Was to primary Blanche Lincoln. See? She wasn’t Liberal enough for them, so she had to go.
Look, I don’t care if David Foster speaks at the DNC. I do care when they misrepresent what he is and what he actually does. He was never employed by anything Bain Capital controlled. His entire life has been spent working for Big Labor, and now he is the Executive Director of a liberal group that loves them some stimulus dollars, spends their money to unseat Republicans, or someone they find not far enough left, and sits on a ‘Climate Board’ with Al Gore.
David Foster is not some disaffected steelworker. David Foster is lifetime employee of Big Labor and now runs an environmental group that exists to elect candidates that will promote their political point of view. He’s no victim. You know who are victims? The American Taxpayers who lost over $500M on Solyndra and other bad investments. Investments groups like Foster’s want to see more and more of in the future.

“In 2004, Foster was awarded the Jane Lehman Bagley Award from the Tides Foundation for his work building labor-environmental coalitions in the United States.” Tides Foundation=George Soros. There are about 11 labor unions represented as “members” of the BlueGreen Alliance.
Hmmm…

[...] This is particularly hilarious because not only is it obvious this ad never pretended to be an actual former Obama supporter, TalkingPointsMemo.com has absolutely no mention on its website of David Foster – the “former employee of a Bain controlled company” who has appeared in ads and actually spoke at the convention. It’s crazy, I go to these sites, like NY Times, CNN, or any more left leaning sites, and they just don’t care about Joe Soptic, or Foster, or any malfeasance on their side. The comments are like this race is a blowout, when nothing can be further from the truth. I keep warning them that they are setting themselves up for MAJOR dissappointment, you can’t work yourself up that much and be let down easy. We are going to hear election stealing accusations out the wazoo after this is over. They are fervent, spittle releasing pitt bull puppies that just can’t have an honest conversation with their own ranks.
