It has been several weeks since Part 3 of this article series was published and lest anybody think I have abandoned the project, I have not and am in fact even more intrigued by some recent events.

Within the last couple of weeks Klout and Kred have released new and remarkably different websites.

Klout also indicated they have changed their algorithms for determining your SMI score. Both new sites have many unique features but some striking similarities, primarily the use of a “story board” that provides users with a very graphic display of their recent social media activity.

As life, politics and technology all evolve so too will my article series as the next article will be revisiting the Kred website and a discussion of all the new features. If you have not seen the new interface, I urge you take a few moments and do, it is quite impressive. Likewise if you haven’t seen the new preview version of Klout, click on the button in the banner at the top of the existing site. It too is worth a look.

I have already been in touch with Andrew Grill, CEO of Kred, and we will be speaking next week with an updated article about Kred shortly thereafter. I’m still trying to coordinate schedules with Joe Fernandez at Klout and hope to have that article, number four in the series, published within a couple weeks.

Once the Kred update and Klout article are complete, rest assured I will author the fifth and final article of the series that will pull it all together and include my opinions of the entire realm of Social Media Influence soring. If you have not read the first three articles, they are available using these links:

Social Media Influence, Science or Sham – Part 1 – An Overview

Social Media Influence, Science or Sham – Part 2 – A Look at Kred

Social Media Influence, Science or Sham – Part 3 – A Look at PeerIndex

Thank you!
