Obama Isn’t Living Up To His Own Standards: Disgusting Ads Edition

Enough is enough.

The media won’t hold Obama accountable for his failure, preferring instead to focus on Harry Reid’s outrageous lies and letting Team Obama get away with not denouncing the disgusting ad put out by Priorities USA – the pro-Obama SuperPAC run by Bill Burton, former White House Deputy Press Secretary. Oh, sure. The media is acting all outraged at the ad but they’re not forcing Obama or his surrogates to denounce the ad. Team Obama gets special treatment. Recall that Romney was hounded until he denounced a SuperPAC ad that was never even made!

Here’s what Team Obama said at the time this never-made ad was being discussed:

“This morning’s story revealed the appalling lengths to which Republican operatives and SuperPacs apparently are willing to go to tear down the President and elect Mitt Romney,” Obama campaign manager Jim Messina said in a statement.

“The blueprint for a hate-filled, divisive campaign of character assassination speaks for itself. It also reflects how far the party has drifted in four short years since John McCain rejected these very tactics,” he said.

The Democratic strategist’s message came shortly after his counterpart on the Romney campaign, Matt Rhoades, said that the presumptive Republican nominee would “repudiate” the politics of “character assassination.”

“Once again, Governor Romney has fallen short of the standard that John McCain set, reacting tepidly in a moment that required moral leadership in standing up to the very extreme wing of his own party,” said Messina.

Reacting tepidly? Obama has yet to react at all to the outrageous PrioritiesUSA ad. In fact, his surrogates are out there basically defending the ad by pretending they haven’t really looked into it.

C’MON, Media! Hold Team Obama to their own standards. Obama isn’t even reacting “tepidly” in this moment that requires “moral leadership.” His silence is signalling approval of the dirty politics he once promised to end when running in 2008. DO YOUR JOBS, Media.
