Ben LaBolt has told another big fat whopper of a lie during his latest appearance on CNN. This time he tries to say Obama Administration lawyers never argued the ‘Individual Mandate’ was a tax. Watch:

Oh really?

Here’s an argument Solicitor General Donald Verrilli made before the Supreme Court:

Not only is it fair to read this as an exercise of the tax power, this court has an obligation to construe it an exercise of the tax power if it can be upheld on that basis.

Even Media Matters says “Solicitor General Donald Verrilli devoted significant time to the taxing-power argument”  and provides some transcripts of Verrilli making the very argument that LaBolt said they never made. Not to mention we all know they made that argument in lower courts as well.

Bottom line? Ben LaBolt is a liar. He’s trying to protect President Obama who said he “absolutely rejected” the mandate was a tax, even though his lawyers were arguing the exact opposite.

I won’t tax your behavior if you stop getting tax breaks for YOUR kids. you decided to have them, you pay for them. that is personal responsibility. we all should pay the exact same tax rate.
