Debbie Wasserman Schultz: World’s Biggest Hypocrite

Well, well, well. It appears DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman is the world’s biggest hypocrite. For weeks, she, along with the Obama Campaign, have been attacking Mitt Romney for having a foreign bank account and what she refers to as ‘secretive investments.’ David Axelrod even went so far as to call Mitt Romney “the most secretive candidate since Richard Nixon.

Well, guess what? After all her pathetic attempts at that class warfare nonsense, it looks like we have a pot calling the kettle black scenario. From The Weekly Standard:

Disclosure forms reveal that Democratic National Committee chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz, a member of Congress from Florida, previously held funds with investments in Swiss banks, foreign drug companies, and the state bank of India. This revelation comes mere days after the Democratic chair attacked presumptive Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney for holding money in Swiss bank accounts in the past.

Once again we have the usual “do as I say, not as I do” garbage from the left. It’s OK for her to do what she wants with her money, but somehow it’s not OK for Mitt Romney to do the same? Remember, this is a woman who refuses to release her own tax returns, so the hypocrisy is strong with this one.

Then again, I guess her thinking reflects that of all those folks who think they should be the final arbiter of how Americans spend the money they earn. You know those people, right? Yeah, we call them Liberals.

    I cannot bear to see this woman’s face or hear her voice, any longer! Would somebody PLEASE tell Fox to stop selecting HER to subject viewers to, almost every day in some time slot? Please!

    Yes DWC is a hypocrite, but since she’s not (currently) running for office, why should I care about her tax returns or off-shore investments? Heck, Romney *is* running and I could care less about seeing his tax returns and investments.

    Well stupid me.

    I didn’t know DWS, in addition to being DNC Chairman, is also a Congressman, meaning she probably *IS* running for re-election. So my last comment was totally uninformed, and I agree she should live by the same standards she is asking Romney to adhere to.

    two wrongs dont make it right. as far as im concern, there both tax dodgers. thats the reason rich people shouldnt hold office, conflict of interest. all there worried about is there money, not the american people.

    Boy, you’re really grasping on this one.

    Are you seriously suggesting there is an equivalence between a few thousand dollars in a managed 401k and hundreds of millions of dollars shielded from U.S. taxes in Swiss bank accounts and offshore shell corporation?

    Isn’t a 401k investments different from actually taking money from your US account to a Swiss bank account? Let’s say it was $5 Million she earned in pre-tax income and didn’t report it to the IRS some sort of way as it was income that flew under the IRS radar. Then she took the money and deposited it into a Swiss bank account where no other country may audit her bank account for possible taxes owed. Because what’s in a Swiss bank account is untouchable by any other country (until recently that is and I’m not sure how the US got them to change that rule. Think it had something to do with the markets crashing and the UN saying…where’s our money?!) But back to the subject… isn’t that different than when you invest pre-tax dollars in a 401k in mixed stocks and bonds in which some are offshore, yet it is still available for audit to the IRS as it is reported when you withdraw it for retirement or before retirement? I mean, really his money in an offshore account now is much ado about nothing because now…the Swiss bank where people used to hide their money from the IRS is now apparent. (Literally, there was an article saying the bankers in Switzerland was afraid to leave Switzerland to go to their other homes because of the US audit.) But before, when people deposited money there, it was all locked and sealed and no other country could access your account for tax audits. And I thought we were all doing our share in paying taxes. I think it is time for the people who can’t afford to hide their money in a Swiss bank account to take a break from paying taxes and let the upper class pick up their share.

    i agree, why would a HONEST american buisness person invest in a swiss account? i wish romney would answer that same question instead of passing the ball. and his other investments in other foriegn countrys instead of his own. just explain why the needed secercy and the foriegn investments. not the usual avoiding answering thge question, but a straight up answer. true thats hard for a republican to do, but give it a shot.

    Parking your money in a Swiss bank account, whether directly or via some other investment, isn’t illegal, so I’m not sure why DWS is making such a big deal out of this.

    OTOH, asking for Romney’s tax returns while witholding her own is pure unadulterated hypocrisy. But of course the media won’t call her out on it . . .

    i totally agree. its about time the rich start helping out instead of hiding behing tax havens and tax cuts. if the rich paid percentage wise the same as the middle class we wouldnt have has much dept. but as long as a republican is in office giving cuts to his rich friends, that wont happen

    She has refused to release her tax forms so we don’t know how much she has over there. There are many Americans who have millions have money there because it is taxed less and the tax code allows it. Who wouldn’t want to pay less taxes if they could. If I ever hit the lottery and had millions, that’s what I would do with some of my money. The government takes enough of our money and wastes it as it is. If they invested it in our own citizens instead of sending it to countries who hate us, that would be one thing. I’m sure there are plenty movie stars, senators, etc. who are doing the same thing. Probably Harry Reid,,he won’t release his taxes so we have no way of knowing.
