Things just got interesting.

One of the “witnesses” used in the Washington Post hit piece seems to have thrown a wrench in the narrative. Stu White, a Romney friend, has this to say:

White was not present for the prank, in which Romney is said to have forcefully cut a student’s long hair and was not aware of it until this year when he was contacted by the Washington Post.

Read that again.

Stu White was not present for the prank and wasn’t even aware of it until the Washington Post contacted him THIS YEAR about it.

No big deal, you say? Well it is a big deal because this is what the Washington Post said as it relates to Stu White:

“I always enjoyed his pranks,” said Stu White, a popular friend of Romney’s who went on to a career as a public school teacher and has long been bothered by the Lauber incident. “But I was not the brunt of any of his pranks.”

Emphasis mine. The Lauber incident is the one where Romney cut Lauber’s hair.

Now, how was Stu White long “bothered” by an incident in 1965 that he didn’t know of until 2012? Hmm?

Someone has some explaining to do.

  1. [...] WASHINGTON POST HIT PIECE ON ROMNEY… EMBELLISHED? “One of the ‘witnesses’ used in the Washington Post hit piece seems to have thrown a wrench in the narrative.” [...]

  2. Perdidomike says:

Totally illogical reasoning! This post doesn’t give the full interview, but excepts. Stu White didn’t witness the scissors incident. When informed of it, it bothered him.
Stu White, an old classmate and friend, who also hosted the party where Mitt & Ann got together, was contacted by Scott Romney asking him to act as a surrogate to defend Mitt.
He found it “doesn’t ring true” that Romney would not remember the incident.
“How could the fellow with the scissors forget it?” He also said other classmates had been contacted by the Romney campaign to defend Mitt. Stu White said others who witnessed the incident still felt remorseful about it.
Breitbart.com Under a bold-faced Headline [Correction Request: Washington Post Uses Falsehood in Romney Hit Piece] claims Stu White “completely contradicts” the Washington Post article. This is COMPLETELY FALSE.
If there is an error, the context of the story remains the same. Mitt Romney committed a hazing, bullying incident against a “supposedly gay” student and now states he has no memory of it.FACT!

    Nice try, Perdidomike.

WashPo said “long bothered.” I’m saying they embellished this part but I’m being generous.

  4. daddy says:

Well “Stu” has obviously “Evolved” onto “the right side of history,” regardless of temporal zones or anachronisms, etc. WaPo reporters have a special ability to get their witnesses unstuck in time, sort of like Billy Pilgrim from”Slaughterhouse Five.”

BTW, did the WaPo story mention Montana Wildhack?

  5. I says:

Maybe he was bothered by expectation of WaPo completely changing the meaning of words that he actually said?

  6. Observer says:

When the Post reporter wrote that Stu White “has long been bothered” by the hair cutting incident, he meant that White had been bothered for the several minutes between the time when White first learned of the incident (from the Post reporter) to the time when the Post reporter shook White’s hand and thanked him for the interview.

You see, it all depends on what the definition of “long” is. The word means different things to different people. If you’re confused by this, check with Bill Clinton. He’ll explain it to you.

  7. craig says:

Hey now, we, the Media, have already used this story to set the narrative. No fair bringing it back up and pointing out our bias. We’re already on to the next thing…

  8. werewife says:

If this is the worst, most disqualifying thing Mitt Romney has ever done in his life, then I for one have never known a better man. DEFINITELY a better man than the sanctimonious herd of swine presuming to judge him on these grounds.

G-d, I miss Andrew Breitbart. What a hootenanny he’d be enjoying with this…

  9. mouell says:

I wonder when they are going to report about Obama bullying a girl? That is by his own description, BTW.

  10. Just Me says:

Why does the WaPo go to all this trouble? Why not just run with the story they want to run:

    ROMNEY BAD

Romney bad. Romney bad. Romney bad. Romney bad. Romney bad.
Romney bad. Romney bad. Romney bad. Romney bad. Romney bad.
Romney bad. Romney bad. Romney bad. Romney bad. Romney bad.
Romney bad. Romney bad. Romney bad. Romney bad. Romney bad.
Romney bad. Romney bad. Romney bad. Romney bad. Romney bad.

  11. dagny says:

I’ve been interviewed by the Post and they do indeed change, hack, fake, reword everything to suit their agenda. Perhaps Perdidomike can go to work for them spinning, lying, spinning, faking, nuancing, et al. Why are we pretending the kid with the long hair was gay when he wasn’t? For the gay marriage celebration currently ongoing? Lol

  12. RG says:

Wouldn’t be surprised. It’s not like the MSM don’t have a long history of embellishing or just flat out making up stories to fit the approved narrative.

  13. Diggs says:

Oh my God! What if the tries to do that with Ahmedinijhad?!!??

  14. Linda says:

What about Obama’s high school and college experiences? Why this and no news about his college roomates, college transcripts adn where all the money cmae form? Not one word about his grandparents who made sacrifices when thier daughter and granchild(ren) came to live wiht them.

  15. Basil Seal says:

Obviously, the Post spent a lot of time on this story — it’s not easy to discover, corroborate, and get into print a story where the principal subject has been dead for seven years and the complicating event occurred in… 1959. While all the major characters were in… high school.

But this is a very important story. It shows us exactly what evil lurks in the dark, dark heart of Mitt Romney. And when I stare into that abyss of doom, I bite my lip, as tears well in my eyes, and think:

It’s 2012 and we are $16 trillion in debt thanks in large part to the incompetent narcissus we elected four years ago. There is virtually no aspect of life as we know it that won’t be fundamentally altered for the worse if we fail to reverse the unsustainable cycle of debt and spending Obama so resolutely pursues. Unemployment is at 8.9% and would be closer to 11% if the labor force participation rate were the same as when Obama took office.

Obviously the Obama, the Post and Obama’s devotees are in sore need of the same advice young Romney needed in 1959: grow the f**k up.

  16. Quilvio says:

I and the American people have no doubt that Romney did this and worse. What a difference, between enlightened President Obama and Neanderthal Romney. Time to update the bumper sticker: Bin Laden is dead, GM is alive, Romney is a hate mongering bigot, Romney is toast!

  17. rltsjsm says:

To Quilvio: It is not “I and the American people”, correction: “The American people and I”.
Yes, there is quite a difference between Obama and Governor Romney. Obama was and continues to be “enlightened” by the likes of Pastor Wright,(where Obama sat in his church listening to hateful ‘sermons’ about whites and America)and then obama claimed he only went a few times (20 years is not a few times), and Bill Ayers, (the domestic terrorist that bombed our Pentagon and a police station where one police officer was killed and where opened held his very first campaign fund raiser as he ran for Senator in Chicago-thug land of America), And if Obama is so enlightened in his brain-why is it that he will not release his Harvard grades. Romney was top 5% of his class with a GPA (grade point average) of 3.9+. As for Bin Laden- it was Bush’s policies that helped locate Bin Laden, policies that Obama was against, and besides it was our courageous seal soldiers that got binladen-not Obama- all obama did was give the okay, BUT obama had in place a document that if anything went wrong-he would not be blamed (someone else would take the blame) What an ‘enlightened’ President, I would say a “deceitful” president in all he does.
And as for GM being alive, it is alive because of our TAXPAYERS MILLIONS OF DOLLARS BAILING THEM OUT AND THEY HAVE NOT YET PAID US BACK. Why should you and I bail them out with our taxpayers dollars, let them go through the bankruptcy process on their own.
Romney has a resume that puts Obama’s to shame. Romney has actually run companies that had budgets of millions of dollars, he saved the 2002 Utah Winter Olympics- he was a successful governor of Massachusetts- he left surpluses in both of their budgets. He refused a salary both times. According to newspapers reports the 2002 Winter Olympics was the most successful Olympics and best organized in all the history of ALL olympics-including summer olympics. Obama never ever even has run a lemonade stand!!
ROMNEY- HEAD AND SHOULDERS ABOVE OBAMA IN EACH AND EVERY WAY!

  18. Perdidomike says:

Half-truths & outright lies in EVERY SINGLE ASSERTION you have made! Where do you get your research? Joel Pollack & Ben Shapiro; the erstwhile heirs and Breitbot Twins?
Like the vast majority of extremists you never let facts get in the way of your narrative, a tradition begun by and maintained by Fox News Channel!

  19. This is always the same old story when the “left wing press” gets
to lie in print and no one ever calls them on it. It is the same as the so called”journalists” who embellish every story about any conservative yet give every “liberal democrat” a pass. When Bush was President the press every single day villified him and boldly called him horrible names, yet if one word is said about Obama it is considered racists and the person who says it is villified. This is where people need to get bold and consider what the big networks say as lies and not listen to any of their rhetoric. There are many other outlets to get news from that tell the truth. There are the “liberals” at Msnbc who constantly use derogatory terms when describing anyone who has a conservative view. Why is this??? I remember when Obama was running for President the “liberal press” never once questioned his Senate seat and anything he said or voted on during that term. What about his College years, or Law School no one thinks there is a need to find out what his past is all about. Then the Washington post does a hugg article about Romney going back 40 years to high school about an event that they claim he bullied someone and they have been proven wrong by people that were there at the time and the family of the person that Romney “bullied”, is this journalism?? This is fraud and no one wants to question this paper about what they print. Remeber Sarah Palin, for no good reason she was dragged through the mud along with her family just because she was a conservative and a woman. They villified her at every turn for what reason. The Democrats and all of their liberal base need to be brought to task for all of the lies they tell and their underhanded ways of wreaking havoc on this Country.Do people with any common sense see the way the Media wants this election to go. Obama will continue to lie in every speech he makes, to divide this Country and tell people all of the free stuff he will give them while we the taxpayers are on the hook for the trillions in debt for our kids and grandkids. The President cannot run on his record and those are the facts, but the media won’t give you the facts they will still give Obama a pass. God help this Country if Obama get re–elected and our “freedoms” and are “liberties” will be gone.
