Obama Was NOT Born In Kenya

Okay? Let’s repeat that a few times: Obama was NOT born in Kenya. He was born in Hawaii. Not Kenya. Hawaii. And for good measure: Obama was born in Hawaii, not Kenya. Got it? Good.

Despite the numerous times the article states that the booklet does not change the fact that Obama was born in Hawaii, the moron Left and their smear merchants are running with the “Breitbart.com has gone birther” narrative. This is their way of trying to kill the story before it makes it to the mainstream media, or at the very least, poison the story and change what the mainstream media says about the new information.
The story is actually about an obviously incorrect biography of Obama finding its way into marketing material for Obama’s literary agency. Someone somewhere used the idea that Obama was born in Kenya as a selling point for him and his literary agent. The story is not about where Obama was born – which was in Hawaii, not Kenya.
The errant Obama biography in the Acton & Dystel booklet does not contradict the authenticity of Obama’s birth certificate. Moreover, several contemporaneous accounts of Obama’s background describe Obama as having been born in Hawaii.
The biography does, however, fit a pattern in which Obama–or the people representing and supporting him–manipulate his public persona.
THAT is the story.
There are two possible scenarios here:
1) Obama told his literary agent he was born in Kenya.
2) His literary agent wrote his biography without consulting Obama and somewhere along the line the idea that Obama was born in Kenya magically occurred to the person who wrote the biography.
In either scenario, an obvious error was made. Obama was born in Hawaii, not Kenya.
At issue here, again, is that this will now be yet another instance where Obama’s past seems to have been manufactured by someone for some reason. His books contain “composite” characters. Obama himself once claimed he was born because of the Selma March when it occurred four years after his birth. There are other instances where liberties have been taken in crafting this persona who just happens to have been elected President of the United States.
This should concern all of us. We still, after almost four years of Obama being President, don’t really know who this man is. We can’t trust anything about him – except for his birth certificate which was clearly issued by the State of Hawaii in 1961. Everything after that is literally a mystery.
There’s a simple solution to all this. Someone with access to the President – aka the Media – can get to the bottom of this. Who told Obama’s literary agent that Obama was born in Kenya when he wasn’t born in Kenya? How on earth did this biography appear on marketing material without Obama knowing about it? Was it ever corrected by anyone, including Obama?
That’s the story: No one really knows who this guy is, he’s had a disastrous presidency, and maybe it’s time the media did its job for once.
Vet this guy before giving him another four years to ruin us.
UPDATE: Political Wire, who is a client of the same literary agent, got a statement from the person who wrote the bio.
Miriam Goderich issued the following statement to Political Wire:
“You’re undoubtedly aware of the brouhaha stirred up by Breitbart about the erroneous statement in a client list Acton & Dystel published in 1991 (for circulation within the publishing industry only) that Barack Obama was born in Kenya. This was nothing more than a fact checking error by me — an agency assistant at the time. There was never any information given to us by Obama in any of his correspondence or other communications suggesting in any way that he was born in Kenya and not Hawaii. I hope you can communicate to your readers that this was a simple mistake and nothing more.”
Not good enough. Who gave her the “fact” she failed to check? There was no google or wikipedia back in 1991. This is not the end of the story.

There are dozens of articles from when he was elected the editor of the Harvard Law Review, all of which state he was born in Hawaii. These reports pre-date this bio. So obviously this is more about somebody not fact-checking their material before they published this bio than anything else.

Where did they magically come up with Kenya? Out of all the countries in Africa, or the world, why Kenya?
That is where his father was from. Maybe there was some confusion. Who knows. The same could be said for the dozens, upon dozens of articles from when he was elected President of the Harvard Law Review or from his community organizing days (which both pre-date this). So it’s completely random to assume he’d go around telling people he was born in Hawaii, then for no apparent reason tell a single lit agent that he was born in Kenya, then switch back again.

My black co worker one day explained a bit of “being black” to me. He said that many black people have no problem with any other black person who stretches or misrepresents or otherwise might not be exactly accurate in what they say. The thinking goes that “you do what you gotta do to get ahead”.
If that is true — and my coworker was (is) a successful professional whose judgement I came to trust — then many black people will dismiss the whole “gay marriage” thing as something that Obama had to do to win the election. And they will be okay with that. In other words, that alleged “alienation” with the black religious leaders probably won’t be much of a problem.
Neither would it be a problem if he “mistakenly” said he was born in Kenya just to get a book published.

I’d like to see just a couple of these Harvard Law Review articles stating he was born in Hawaii. After all, why would an author of an article for the Harvard Law Review even mention the place of their birth?
Whether it is true or false, you can’t deny that Obama is a world class liar.
$50 bucks says….Obama used Kenya as his birthplace to get special deal for college.

He probably thought saying he was from Kenya was a cool way to sell a book…. having no idea he would be running for President ever in his life.

Assuming he was born in Hawaii, the premise here tends to be that there is a good chance Obama claimed to be from Kenya in college to receive preferential treatment. If he did, this is a major issue about the overall character of the man who is now our President.
Furthermore, the article points out that the “Born In Kenya” bio was used by the literary agent until 2007- just before Obama ran for office. Then it was changed. This is NOT a good thing for the President or the country. It is not good at all.
Here’s a likely scenario, if Obama was truly born in Hawaii, then it makes more sense that Obama told Harvard and the literary Agent (and others) that he was born in Kenya to improve his admissions chances, get more tuition aid, and as a better ‘coming to america’ story for the book his literary agent was helping him with. It’s hard to believe and explain that a literary agent would just guess that a President of the Harvard Law Review was born in a foreign country…that makes no sense folks.
Also, they didn’t update the bio until 2007, so that means Obama, who would have been excited about his first book and worked closely with his literary agent back in 1991, would have seen his bio and said nothing to correct it. If your agent listed you as being from Kenya and you were born in Hawaii, don’t you think you would have correct them?
It’s probably like the Elizabeth Warren situation, where she claimed to be a minority (1/32nd Cherokee) to get into Harvard and to further her career…and now she can’t provide proof of her heritage, no one can. Oops. That seems to be what Obama may have done, said he was from Kenya when it helped him, said he was from Hawaii when that helped him. And now it’s all coming to a head….it should have been unearthed in 2007-8, but better late than never.

1. This is very stupid.
2. We (ie, the left, Leftists, moron Liberals, whatever the flavor of the day is) do not want to kill the story. We love the story because everybody who repeats it verbatim, or ‘discusses’ it ‘sensibly’, or who uses fake doubt to spread it, or who even mentions it identifies himself as a chowderhead.
3. For political purposes, the story has no downside, so we don’t care about it and wouldn’t expend any effort to kill it. The people who believe or care about or even consider this tripe are chowderheads, and are also shall we say unlikely to vote for Obama or any non-chowderhead. They’re unreachable by logic, science, history, evidence, or common sense. I’d call them racists but the problem is deeper than that; real racists know they’re racists and tend to be honest about it, at least to other racists. Real racists aren’t beneath contempt because they have values, just twisted values.
4. It is worth writing on one count: the Republican party. I am not of it, though I’ve voted for Republicans a couple of times over democrats (I don’t count voting for a Republican over a Chowderhead the same way, but I’ve done that too.) The Republican party is a necessary counterweight to the Democratic party in our system. At present the Republican party has been taken over by you chowderheads, and it’s hurting America because your political logic is uncontaminated by science, history, evidence, or common sense. A good half of the Republican house caucus is not sane in any real political sense. (witness yesterday’s military budget.) The sooner this madness passes and the chowderheads withdraw to their compounds to covet the Constitutions they don’t understand and stroke the firearms they crave to use, but not in a racist way, the sooner the republic can elect grownups and start in on the problems that are being neglected right now while you prattle about Kenya. So glory to the story–let it spring from tongue to tongue.

I voted for Obama- and have been bitterly disappointed in what he has done. I’m also black- so now what do we do?

Let’s summarize your post:
1. Everyone who is critical of this president is clearly a racist, a science denier, a Creationist and certainly unworthy of a credible reply from the very man who continues to propagate this nonsense.
2. Everyone who has the audacity to demand an explanation regarding this president perhaps ‘embellishing’ his bio is a Creationist, even though this administration has yet to explain the files within the online version of his birth certificate. Clearly, he ‘puffed up’ his resume in the past, and further, he deliberately altered the online document to raise suspicion amongst his critics.
3. Those who dare inquire as to the purpose of such files are to be ridiculed (in typical leftist fashion) as “Chowderheads,” and unworthy of questioning the WhiteHouse(dot)gov’s motives for intentionally presenting this altered version to us rubes, obviously to create the narrative that evil Republicans believe he was born in Kenya.
Here’s a newsflash: Most of us do NOT believe this president was born outside of the U.S. That said, many of us believe that this president has deliberately (through the altering of the online version) tried to create doubt amongst the American people in an effort to keep the controversy alive for sympathy and votes. In other words, this president has a martyr complex, and believes he’s not required to answer to the people.
The legitimate questions of misrepresenting his background to sell books is apparently off-limits to Leftists, as is the questions surrounding the official document on a taxpayer-funded website, complete with the hidden files that exist where alterations were made, so they would be discovered. To ask why Martyr-in-Chief would participate in such petty and misleading tactics speaks to his CHARACTER – not his place of birth.

If obama wasn’t born in Kenya then why would the British governent have his birth records in their archives as being born in Kenya?
On another note why would any government but the US government have archives of his birth records?I bet no one can answer that.
