Seems like there might be some shenanigans in President Obama’s latest campaign ad. In it, a man named Brian Slagle claims he was laid off until President Obama’s bailout of the auto industry. But there may be a little problem with Mr. Slagle’s claim. From the Weekly Standard:

But the ad itself seems to be misleading. It is not because of Obama’s auto bailout that Slagle has a job. In fact, Slagle has been employed with Johnson Controls since February 2006, according to his own Facebook page. (Screenhsots can be seen here)

The question I’d ask is how does a guy claiming continuous employment for six years make the statement he was laid off and then Obama came and saved him? Keep in mind this isn’t the first time the story of someone speaking about what Obama did for them has been questioned.

About a week ago a woman claimed Obama was the reason she could find health care. Of course, that wasn’t true at all. In fact, she only made those statement after campaign aides “helped her shorten her remarks.” How convenient.

Now, might be a perfectly good explanation for this? Sure. But the fact the man in question has scrubbed his Facebook of all this doesn’t strike me as a good sign.
