The Obama Movie: “Why Are You All So Stupid?”
News broke yesterday that President Obama’s reelection campaign will be releasing a documentary about his first term in office. It is slated to be 17 minutes long, which I can only assume is that short because he doesn’t have very many accomplishments and his average supporter doesn’t have the attention span for an actual documentary.
Below is the trailer to this new documentary, but I can sum it up pretty succinctly: “why are you all so stupid?”
The trailer seems to ask, “don’t you people know how awesome this President is?” It tells us not to look at the day’s headlines from (allegedly) unbiased journalists and news sources – but to “remember what we as a country have been through” during Obama’s time in office. I hate to break it to director Davis Guggenheim, but that record we’ve all been through isn’t good by any stretch of the imagination. Try again.
So, why are we all so stupid? Why are we too stupid to realize Obama did something magical to save the economy (that is still anemic and flailing)? Why are we too stupid to realize that Obama saved the auto industry from shutting down outright (even though they went into bankruptcy anyway)? Why are too stupid to realize that Obama hasn’t “put off unpleasant decisions” (even though he has yet to propose a realistic budget or address entitlement reform)?
And then the kicker – why are we too stupid to realize that it was so difficult for Barack Obama to give the command to shoot the guy who is responsible for death of over 3,000 Americans (even if that decision actually seems like a pretty easy one)?
We’re all just so stupid, and Obama needs needs a biased story told by a biased director, with the testimony of his biased advisers to set the record straight about just how awesome he is.
I’m insulted. And you should be too.
