Markos “1773″ Moulitsas Solidifies Status As Uber-Moron Emeritus

Anyone who has paid attention to the ramblings of the dullard who started DailyKos knows the guy simply isn’t playing with a full deck. The very fact that Markos Moulitsas is known outside his mom’s basement proves anyone can make it in the United States and explodes the “income inequality” nonsense the Left has been peddling since the early 1900s.
We’ve had our share of laughs at Markos’ expense in the past, and the “1773” incident might still be the best one, but today could wind up ranking up there when all is said and done. What makes this particularly hilarious is that 1) he is obviously desperate to make it seem like Occupy Wall Street is a real political movement and 2) he’s dead serious.
A little background, as I wrote earlier, Democrats are in full politics-only mode. They aren’t trying to improve the economy or get our fiscal house in order anymore. No, everything is a political stunt in order to avoid losing power. There is no longer even a whiff of sound policy involved. They’ve determined their only chance is to engage in the tired class warfare of the past. Their latest stunt was to put forward a plan to extend the payroll tax cuts from the failed stimulus of 2009 while simultaneously hiking taxes on the dreaded “1%.” Republicans were balking at the ploy, naturally.
When it was reported that Republicans had signaled they might go along with an extension of the payroll tax cuts, Markos jumped on Twitter to declare a victory for Occupy Wall Street. He then cranked out a blog post which comes off like someone who has never done an end zone dance trying to do the Ickey Shuffle for the first time.
In the world where Occupy had never happened, Republicans would’ve held these tax cuts hostage without suffering any ill repercussions. Why would they? The chattering class and Beltway media would be droning on endlessly about deficits and other things that didn’t matter.
See that? “Deficits and other things that didn’t matter.” This is actually mainstream Progressive belief. Remember this the next time a Democrat pretends to care about fiscal responsibility. They don’t care. But I digress.
In this world, Occupy has thrust income inequality to the forefront of the political debate — so much so that typically immovable Republicans are afraid to feed that narrative.
In other words, a ragtag bunch of hippies with supposedly no demands have done what Democrats have never been able to do — get Republicans to cry “uncle”.
Yeah, Markos. That ragtag bunch of hippies have gotten the evil Republicans to say they’ll probably back the extension of a TAX CUT. A tax cut, Markos. What combination of mind altering substances is potent enough to turn a pretty standard Republican position into a victory for a bunch of marxist losers? That’s the question I want answered.
What does any of this have to with “income inequality” anyway? Oh, could it be that Democrats were going to hike taxes on the “1%” in order to “pay for” the payroll tax extension? Did Markos tell his readers that Republicans aren’t going along with that part of the proposal? Of course not. He was relying on DailyKos readers not bothering to click through and read the Reuters report.
Trying to get ahead of the game, McConnell proclaimed Republican support for the payroll tax cut extension and told reporters his party would soon propose its own ideas for covering the cost of the tax cut.
In other words, we’re a long way from a resolution to this issue and Republicans are going to propose other alternatives to the Democrats tax hikes on “the rich.” There was no “victory” for Occupy Wall Street. None of this will impact “income inequality.” Republicans appear ready to support extending TAX CUTS – a default position.
If Markos wasn’t such a vile individual, I’d almost feel sorry for him.
