Ladies and Gentlemen, this is the American Left:

For those of you unfamiliar with the deranged individual who wrote this, he is a prominent figure in Leftist circles on Twitter. An Obama sycophant with nearly 11,000 followers. If you spend any amount of time monitoring either the #tcot or #p2 hashtags, you’ll see his 140 character bits of insanity at some point. His drones will retweet anything the basement dweller spews and treat it as gospel. He greets his minions every morning with “Good Morning Corpizens…” because in his mind we’re no longer citizens. We belong to “evil” corporations. Getting the picture?

After last night’s vote in Wisconsin, when people were storming into the capitol building, this loon decided to up the ante. The vote by the elected officials in Wisconsin (sans the cowards who fled to Illinois) passed a measure that would eliminate collective bargaining privileges from the teacher’s unions when it comes to benefits and workplace safety (I’ll update if that isn’t the case). In Shoq’s mind, this is equivalent to an event where nearly 3000 people were killed.

Now, one would think a comment this outrageous would draw some sharp criticism even from diehard Leftists. As far as I can tell, the only people who took exception to this moonbattery were on the right. If you’re reading this and you’re a Leftist disgusted by the comment, please let us know… we’d love to hear from you. Shoq, probably realizing he had said something he should have kept to himself, then tried to “clarify” the comment stating that he was merely suggesting that the vote should be an “action stimulus.”

Basically, Shoq’s lame attempt to walk back his vile comment boils down to this: “I didn’t mean it was just like 9/11. I meant it should motivate Progressives just like 9/11 motivated the country.” You see, Shoq is smarter than everyone else. Only the unwashed masses would ever think he was equating the two events when he was, you know, equating the two events. He operates on a different plane. One where a giant condom would solve the Gulf Oil spill from last summer.

We’re all too dumb to not see how teacher’s unions being asked to pay less than the national average for their pension and health care benefits is just as “motivating” as that day in September when 3000 people died.

We’re too simple to understand that in exchange for paying less than the national average, the teacher’s union’s inability to raid the treasury through collective bargaining in a few years is just as “motivating” as that day in September when 3000 people DIED.

We just can’t comprehend that giving the teachers a choice of whether they want to have dues automatically taken out of their paychecks is just as “motivating” as that day in September when 3000 PEOPLE DIED.

No, no… he wasn’t equating 9/11 with the vote in Wisconsin, simpleton. He’s Shoq. He doesn’t do those kind of things.

Except he just did. And everyone who has seen his tweet knows it.

Every minute that goes by where Leftists do not condemn his rhetoric is another minute where they tacitly agree with it. They want civility? They want to restore sanity? They should denounce Shoq’s comment. I’ve forwarded the comment to several “mainstream” Leftists on Twitter… no response. I can only assume they agree with what he said.

This guy is the Left’s equivalent of Fred Phelps from the Westboro Baptist “Church”, only Shoq actually has more influence. Whereas Phelps appeals to only a few dozen congregants, Shoq has nearly 11,000. They are cut from the same lunatic cloth.

I, for one, would like to see a very public condemnation of this rhetoric from Leftists around the blogosphere (and even the media). Should I hold my breath while I wait?

UPDATE: Here’s a little taste of some of the reaction from the Left after last night’s vote. Civility, huh?

Takes one crazy to know another. Thanks for pointing out the obvious.

  2. RB says:

Hi, Annie. Are you a Leftist?

  3. KP says:

I, too, am waiting to hear on a response from the left. I’m praying for nothing but condemnation of this twit…er…tweet.

  4. Free Pioneer says:

I’ve had the strange feeling Shoq is actually John Cusack for months now.

  5. [...] has not been collectively taught when to keep the Bad Voices in their heads from getting out, and it shows.  Dear God in Heaven, but it shows.  It’s very fortunate that it’s (thankfully) a lot [...]

You are mistaken if you think that people on the “left” did not take exception to Shoq’s tweet. Personally, I can’t stand him and his manipulative, king-of-the-hill, egomaniacal, apologist propaganda. But most of those on the left who feel as I do avoid Shoq at all costs – rarely do I cast an eye on his junk-stream. He is even more vicious towards left-leaning dissenters than he is towards the right and it does nothing to further discussion and debate to engage him on his level. He and his army of sycophants (socks) are engrossed in self-adulation and are not truly reflective of real “progressives”. If, however, you insist on grouping us all under one philosophical/ideological banner, then I would like to apologize for his outrageous and thoughtless comment about 9/11. He’s an ass.

  7. RB says:

Bruno, thank you. I was hoping someone from your side would finally speak out. You’re literally the first person to do it.

  8. David says:

I am amazed. The democrats/unionists are stating the new legislation was “pushed” through. And making other such accusations, that is, implying it was hurried through in the middle of night. This has been going on for weeks and headlined in the national news.
The Wisconsin state capitol is the forum for conducting the state business of Wisconsin. A large number of the democrats LEFT THE STATE. They choose not participate in the functions of Wisconsin state government. They failed to represent their constituents; they ran from their state and from their duties.

  9. Paul says:

Shoq does not speak for me or most of my followers. He is a foul, angry, sneaky, cruel, cowardly man who doesn’t appear to work. I am sorry he equated these two events. Shoq wants to tell everyone how to think and what to say but can’t. You will find me on the left, far from crazy Shoq and all his other computer names.

  10. RB says:

Thank you Paul for speaking out. Condemnation of his comments are enough. I don’t expect you or anyone else to apologize for him.

  11. shoq is a douchebag says:

Shoq is a douche bag. An idiot who recycles his own tweets because he has nothing original to say. A 55 year old man who does nothing with his life. He counts that other idiot Karoli as his most important asset. Karoli is not very smart, judging from her posts. That anyone listens to him just shows how ill informed they are. Shoq is a douche bag. Look at how many of his followers drop off. Cannot believe people actually listen to this windbag. He’s done more damage than good for progressives and continues to via his attacks on Bradley Manning, FDL, etc.

  12. Marcie says:

I am still waiting for anyone on the #tcot side to condemn any one of the tweets on http://viletweets.com/.
Clean up your own house first and denounce those who call for violence and assassinations on a daily basis and then maybe you would have some credibility in asking #p2 to denounce their own.

  13. RB says:

Hi Marcie, you might not be aware of this, but about 99% of the really nasty stuff on that site you linked are tweets by people who aren’t conservatives. Also, the person who runs that site is actually nastier than Shoq.

    Thanks, though!

  14. Anon says:

No clue who this person is, but I assume they’re my new best friend, considering you took the time and effort to write out such a hateful message to someone who has zero impact on your life. There’s a difference between striving for political correctness and tearing into everything you can find for meaning that isn’t there. If you can’t see that, I’d suggest you get help before attacking more citizens you disagree with and their right to speak their mind.

  15. RB says:

Hi Anon, all that and you couldn’t bring yourself to mention that the person in question equated public sector unions losing their privileges to 3000 being killed.

    Good to know.

Also, it took me about 15 minutes to write the post. Thanks for your concern about how I use my time. How Leftist of you.

  16. Tommy says:

I see… so this @Shoq guy can speak his mind freely, but anyone who takes issue with what he says, and speaks their mind about it, needs help? Did that level of cognitive dissonance come naturally to you or were there classes you had to take?

  17. Paul says:

Anon=Shoq Shoq=Anon just maybe. Been watching his style for a long time.

  18. Mandy says:

Indeed Shoq has said many outrageous things, but just because some lefties have not condemned them publically does not mean we agree. Many mainstream republicans did not speak up when Mr. “political elite,” Glen Beck, called the victims of New Orleans scumbags on national television or mentioned that families of 911 victims were always complaining. These things that Beck has said are ridiculous and rude. However, I think I can speak for many when I say most lefties certainly don’t think every conservative thinks likes this and I would hope that you do not intertwine all lefties with this character.

  19. William says:

“I didn’t mean it was just like 9/11. I meant it should motivate Progressives just like 9/11 motivated the country.”

Well, that is how I took it. How could anyone seriously think it was exactly the same as 9/11?
