There’s been a relatively under the radar debate brewing regarding Public Sector unions and whether they’re needed. My thought is that there’s something inherently corrupt about government employees organizing to protect themselves from the government. They’re the Government, aren’t they?

Well, here’s a perfect example of why Public Sector unions are 1000 times worse than Private Sector unions.

The snitches “didn’t want to be identified because they were afraid of retaliation,” Halloran said. “They were told [by supervisors] to take off routes [and] not do the plowing of some of the major arteries in a timely manner. They were told to make the mayor pay for the layoffs, the reductions in rank for the supervisors, shrinking the rolls of the rank-and-file.”

New York’s Strongest used a variety of tactics to drag out the plowing process — and pad overtime checks — which included keeping plows slightly higher than the roadways and skipping over streets along their routes, the sources said.

You see? While Private Sector unions can strike and do stuff to disrupt the productivity of their employers (aka extortion and racketeering), they only hurt THAT company. Public Sector unions, when they use the same tactics, hurt the PUBLIC.

In my view, this is unacceptable behavior. Heads should roll… and maybe some collective bargaining agreements too.

I object to those that spoke up being called “snitches”. They are whistleblowers. They alerted people to the abuses that are rife within public sector unions. The fact that they fear retaliation is also telling.

It is time to privatize all public sector union jobs, and open them up to competitive bidding.

What you describe is called involuntary manslaughter. Several people died as a result of the union slowdown, including an innocent child. These union bosses and anyone that can be identified as following their orders needs to be brought up on charges of conspiracy to commit manslaughter or at a minimum reckless endangerment. Every DAMNED one of them needs to burn in hell, after spending some time in Sing Sing….

I object to it too, but that’s what the author of the NYPost article used.
