The events of the past week have provided the latest high profile example of something I’ve been observing for a while now.  When NPR fired pundit Juan Williams for telling the truth about his fears in post-9/11 America, I believe the last section of the Left’s Ideological Iron Curtain was put in place.

Those of us on the right have long been aware of the Left’s attempts to squelch any speech that goes against their orthodoxy. We know the primary weapon they’ve used for decades is the media. It used to be called “the politics of personal destruction”. Ironically, Bill Clinton used that term to criticize conservatives / Republicans but it was simply projection. Leftists project what they’re doing on to everyone else… a lot! Sure, politics is a dirty business and both sides of the aisle smear the other side, but the Left has taken it to the extreme. They’re not satisfied with duking it out on a level playing field, mano a mano. They’ve been trying to rig it for decades so that they can adjust the parameters on the fly and move the goalposts whenever they sense they’re losing ground.

The “mainstream” media, academia, government institutions… The Left has been entrenching itself there for decades so that when needed, they can make the most ridiculous accusations / assertions and have the backing of “the establishment”. (More irony, before this, the Left used to pride itself on “fighting the man”. They’ve been “the man” for at least 40 years.)

This apparatus has become the virtual ideological iron curtain. With the mid-term election coming and a resounding rejection of the Leftist agenda with it, the powers that be (i.e. Soros) are going all-in. No longer can a liberal / Leftist wander outside the confines of Progressivism. The slightest deviation from the Progressive talking points will get you fired. It’s gotten so bad that merely appearing on Fox gets a liberal branded as a “right-winger”. Soros attack dogs like Media Matters man the checkpoints and outposts and shoot anyone who attempts to break free (i.e. speak their minds honestly).

You’d think Leftists would learn. The real Iron Curtain only ensured misery for those WITHIN its boundaries.

Misery loves compnay. The liberal idealogues are on losing ground.
In at least the last 2-4 years, the liberals have gone all out with their beliefs with the intention of making a name for themselves as others have done. But it’s a name many don’t want tagged on them, nor can it be used by many others from the past.
They’re losing. And they can’t stand it. After spending most, if not all, of their adult lives being part of the problems, they want to be part of the solutions with the same tactics. And it is not working.
